The 8th Annual Squiggy 6Hr MTB Race was a great success due in
part to perfect weather, perfect trails and a perfectly pleasant group of
participants. (that's alotta P's..) The last few weeks leading up to the
race we were working hard on the trails at Flatwoods getting ready for the
annual event. Gregg Irving of the Wilderness Trails Association laid out an
awesome course and managed to add some pretty cool technical sections to the
course as well as some fun connector trails that really mixed up the typical
route. Gregg and Gary Chambers Put extra effort into the trails getting them
primed for a fun fast race and we owe them a HUGE thank you!

. With the threat of early morning showers gone the race went off
under sunny skies. The trails were gently kissed by rain earlier that
morning making the usual sandy areas ideal for racing.

. Dwayne Allgire took the Advanced Solo Mens division with 8 laps
while Tracey Wallace was the top Solo Woman with 7 laps. Fastest lap of the
day goes out to Jim Macpherson who managed to rip out an impressive 38:46
lap.

. Everyone had a good time while also raising funds for the trails.
Now that's Mountain Bike Racing!
